IO Control
Control of available input/output functions for the selected ECU can be completed on this page. Adjust the IO parameters that you wish to change and click 'Start Test' to enable this function. The Result will be shown for the matching IO function being used. Once you are finished testing the IO function, click 'Stop Test' to return normal control to the selected ECU.
Example: forcing the cooling fan to run, or enabling high voltage components.
Example: running a coolant pump when the coolant has been drained from the system.
Please take care when using any of the IO control functions.
The example below shows the result was successful for the BCM ECU. All other functions are not available (buttons grey color) until you 'stop test' to return the ECU to normal operation.
If the IO control fails to run, check that you have Ignition On, the car is in the PARK position and the vehicle is stationary. If the IO control still fails to run, then you may need to shutdown IDS. Disconnect the VCI module from the vehicle and computer to allow it to reset. Connect the VCI module, start IDS and connect to the car and try to run the IO control test again.
