2nd Check

  1. With engine at operating temperature and electrical system off, check for leaks in intake air system. Check ignition timing and idle RPM.
  2. Remove crankcase breather hose and close tightly. Connect Tester (VW 1315 A/1) with Adapter (VW 1315A/2) to idle stabilizer valve.
  3. With engine at idle, nominal value should be about 440 mA (fluctuating). Disconnect connector for oxygen sensor. Nominal value should about 430 mA (constant). If nominal values are not met, replace stabilizer control unit.
CAUTION: DO NOT connect test light to throttle valve switch connectors if ECU is connected.
