Muffler Overview

NOTE:
After exhaust system installation work, ensure system is spaced far enough away from body. If necessary, loosen the double clamp on the front exhaust pipes and align the pipes again.
Do not use sealants containing silicone. Traces of silicone components which are sucked into the engine are not burned there, and they damage the oxygen sensors.
Replace the self-locking nuts.
Center and rear muffler, separating, refer to EXHAUST PIPE/MUFFLER, SEPARATING .
- Center Muffler
- Original equipment as one unit with the rear mufflers. If repair is necessary, replace separately.
- Separating the exhaust system. Refer to EXHAUST PIPE/MUFFLER, SEPARATING .
- Clamping Sleeve
- M8 nut - 25 Nm
- M10 nut - 40 Nm
- Installed position, refer to Figure.
- Tighten the nuts evenly.
- Bolt
- 23 Nm
- Suspended Mount
- Retaining Loop
- Replace if damaged.
- Left Rear Muffler
- Original equipment as one unit with the center muffler. For repairs, replace each separately.
- Separating the exhaust system. Refer to EXHAUST PIPE/MUFFLER, SEPARATING .

- 25 Nm
- Tunnel Brace
- Observe the installed direction.
- Suspended Mount
- See, Fig 2.
- Bolt
- 23 Nm
The suspended mount -2- is installed to the underbody in connection with the heat shield -3- and fuel tank tensioning strap -4-.
Tightening specification for the bolts -1- : 25 Nm.
