Exhaust Pipe/Muffler, Separating: Procedure

WARNING:

To prevent injuries from metal shavings, wear protective goggles and protective clothing.

-- Cut through the exhaust pipe using for example, the body repair saw V.A.G 1523 A at right angles at the separating point.

-- Push the rear muffler -3- up to the mark -arrow- on the center muffler exhaust pipe -1-.

-- Position the clamp -2- to dimension -a-.

Rear muffler

Dimension -a- approximately 5 mm

-- Install the clamp so that the end of the bolt does not extend past the lower edge of the clamp.

-- Align the exhaust system so that the distance -a- on the right and left is the same.

-- Tighten the clamp to 40 Nm.
