Readiness Drive Cycle Procedure

-- During the individual test steps, the vehicle needs to be in normal mode, except during service regeneration.

NOTE:

For automatic transmission use the manual gear selection mode, if available for the following steps.

3	EGR System Monitoring: DRIVE: continuous speed of 65+ mph in 5th or 6th gear, if possible with cruise ON. DRIVE: constant speed in 3rd gear at 1800 rpm for 20 s COAST: 8 s (EGR system monitoring reaches 300° C)	EGR System Monitoring Ready
4	NMHC Catalyst Monitoring: START: DPF service regeneration (access authorization), DPF light must light up The vehicle must be driven approx. 5 minutes at a constant speed of 50- 70 mph, preferably with Cruise Control, avoid deceleration and coasting. MONITOR: PM Filter reaches > 575° C, then drive for additional 150 s, stop and idle for 60 s and continue with regeneration until DPF Lamp shuts OFF.	NMHC Catalyst Monitoring Ready
5	NOx/SCR After-treatment (Regeneration) Monitoring: DRIVE: 30-40 min. at constant speed, 50-70 mph in 5 - 6th gear for 2 mins. No Coasting.	NOx/SCR After-treatment (Regeneration) Monitoring Ready
6	Exhaust Gas Sensor Monitoring: DRIVE: vehicle until coolant temperature > 70° C, temperature behind diesel particulate filter > 300° C. IDLE: without steering movement approx. 30 s DRIVE: light acceleration at approx. 2500 RPM in 4th gear, rapidly take foot from gas and coast for about 10 s and repeat COAST: at 3000 rpm in 4th gear (min. 10 s) DRIVE: 30-45 min, at constant speed 50-70 mph in 5 - 6th gear. NOTE:

Depending on the scan tool used. The readiness code status may be displayed as complete, passed or OK. At an exterior temperature < 7°C, the setting of the readiness for the NOx catalytic converter test is delayed, here the vehicle must be Driven considerably longer.
