Component Protection

The 2015 Golf features component protection for most control modules to prevent unauthorized replacement of components.

The component protection master is the Data Bus On Board Diagnostic Interface -J533-. Any control modules that are replaced must be enabled online by FAZIT. If they are not enabled online, their functions will be restricted, or the control module may not operate.

Every time the ignition is turned to the 15 position, all component-protected control modules are checked.

If the vehicle control module configuration is the same, the control modules operate normally.

If there are changes to the control module configuration, component protection is activated and the new control module functions are limited.
