Digital Sound System Control Module, Removing And Installing: Removing:
The amplifier and the Digital Sound System Control Module -J525- -1- are inside the luggage compartment behind the left side trim panel.
-- If the control module is replaced, select the "Replacement" function for the appropriate control module in "Guided Fault Finding" .
Connect the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester to do this.
Perform the Following Steps:
-- Turn off the ignition and all electrical equipment.
-- Remove the left side trim panel. Refer to LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT SIDE TRIM PANELS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Vehicles with Rear Heater and A/C Unit
-- Remove the noise insulation foam piece -1-.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- from the heater and A/C Unit.
-- Move the heater and A/C Unit in direction of -arrow-. The wire connections and hoses remain connected.
Continued for all vehicles
-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.
-- Remove the Digital Sound System Control Module -J525- and mount.
-- Disconnect the connector from the amplifier.
-- On the "RNS 850" versions, install the Fiber-Optic Repair Set - Connector Protective Caps: VAS6223/9 on the fiber-optic cable pulled off the Digital Sound System Control Module -J525-.
Fiber-optic cable is very delicate!
The fiber-optic cable must not be kinked or significantly bent!
The bending radius must not be less than 25 mm.
A kinked fiber-optic cable is no longer usable, data transfer via kinked fiber-optic cable is faulty!
Please do not remove the protective caps from the ends of the fiber-optic cable until the fiber-optic cable is connected to the intended unit.
