Electronic Steering Column Lock Control Module - J764-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, VERSION 2: Removing

-- Bring wheels in the straight position.

-- Pull the lever on the side of the steering column downward.

-- Push the steering column as far down as possible and remove it.

-- Push the lever on the side of the steering column upward again.

-- Remove the steering column switch module. Refer to STEERING COLUMN SWITCH MODULE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Disconnect the connector -1-.

-- Unclip the wiring harness -arrow-.

-- Drill out the shear bolts -3- using a hand drill and an 8.5 mm drill bit.

WARNING:

Wear protective eyewear while drilling.

-- Remove the Electronic Steering Column Lock Control Module -J764- -1- with the mounting plate -2-.

-- Release the catch -3-.
