Driver Information System Control Module With Display Unit J1254, Removing And Installing: Removing

If the display unit is replaced, the test plan for replacing the display unit must be performed.

-- Perform the function "driver information system display unit, replacing" using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester. Refer to the appropriate Service Information .

-- Position the steering wheel as far back and down as possible. Use the entire adjustment range of the steering column adjustment for this.

-- Remove the gap cover for the instrument cluster. Refer to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER GAP COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Unclip the trim -1- using a commercially available plastic wedge.

-- Disconnect the connector -2-.

-- Secure the display unit against falling out.

-- Remove the bolts -1-.

-- Remove the display unit.
