Idle Air Control Valve

  1. Turn ignition switch to the "OFF" position. Disconnect ECU connector. Fuel injection ECU is located on right side of instrument panel, under kick panel. Push out clip and disconnect ECU connector.
  2. Remove cover from ECU connector to expose pin identification numbers. Visually inspect all pin connector sleeves to ensure all pins are at same height.
  3. On all models except 740 Turbo, 760 Turbo and 760 GLE, connect an ohmmeter between fuel ECU connector pin No. 9 and No. 33. Ohmmeter should read 8 ohms resistance.
  4. On 740 Turbo, 760 Turbo and 760 GLE, connect ohmmeter between fuel ECU connector pin No. 9 and No. 10, and then between pin No. 9 and No. 23. Ohmmeter should read 20 ohms resistance.
