Engine speed dips when a gear is selected (automatic transmission)
Condition
- no diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) stored
- engine at normal operating temperature.
- the fault is permanent.
Possible Source
- open-circuit in signal cable from AW 50-42
- short-circuit to ground or supply voltage in signal cable
- contact resistance in connectors
- defective gear selector or idle air control (IAC) valve.
