Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ECM-9540 is stored if the engine control module (ECM), when the ignition is on, registers that the pulse width modulation (PWM) signal for the accelerator pedal (AP) position sensor deviates from the basic frequency of 200 Hz by more than 70 Hz.

Substitute Value 

None.

Possible Source 

Faulty signal: 

• Contact resistance or oxidation in the terminals between the engine control module (ECM) and the accelerator pedal (AP) position sensor
• Open-circuit or short-circuit to ground or supply voltage in the signal cable
• Defective accelerator pedal (AP) position sensor.
