Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information
Condition
Lock-up solenoid SL controls the transmission lock-up function. Solenoid SL operates when it receives voltage from the transmission control module (TCM) and is activated under different driving conditions depending on road speed, throttle position and the driving mode selected. Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) TCM-0014 is stored if the control module registers that the signal is too low in the solenoid SL circuit (solenoid short-circuited to ground) when the solenoid should be activated. Solenoid SL cannot then be activated.
Substitute Value
- The control module does not activate the lock-up solenoid.
Possible Source
- Contact resistance in terminals.
- Open-circuit in signal cable.
- Defective solenoid.
Fault symptom[s]
- General orange warning lamp lit.
- Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lit.
- No lock-up function.
- Harsh gear shifting.
HINT: Harsh shifting - due to no adaptation of gear slippage times at high altitude (High Altitude Compensation).
