Checking cables and sensors
- Ignition off.
Check control module and engine speed sensor connectors for contact resistance and oxidation according to Contact resistance and oxidation .
Check power supply cable between control module #A59 and transmission connector #16 for an open-circuit according to Open-circuit, permanent faults and for a short-circuit to ground according to Short-circuit to ground, permanent faults .
Check signal cable between control module #A41 and transmission connector #17 for an open-circuit according to Open-circuit, permanent faults and for a short-circuit to ground according to Short-circuit to ground, permanent faults .
HINT: With control module connected, ignition on and a voltmeter connected between transmission connectors #16 and #17 (control module side), the voltage should be 8-12 V.
Remedy as necessary.
