Checking the control unit
- Ignition off.
- Connect the control unit.
- Ignition on.
When the ignition is turned on, the control unit turns on the ABS warning lamp. Check that the warning lamp goes out after approximately 2 seconds.
If the warning lamp goes out, the reason for the fault has been poor contact in the control unit connector. Check the control unit connector for contact resistance and oxidation, as described in Contact resistance and oxidation .
If the warning lamp has not gone out, a fault has been recorded. Test with a new control unit, as described in Replacing the control module for ABS and dynamic stability and traction control (DSTC) .
Select Continue when the fault has been rectified.
