Checking The Control Module
- Ignition off
- The breakout box connected
- Disconnect the 6-pin connector for the gear selector module (GSM)
- Connect a temporary cable between terminals #A53 and #B31 on the breakout box.CAUTION:
Thoroughly check that the cable is connected to the correct terminals. Also check that there is no risk of unintentional short-circuits.
- Ignition on
- Read off the status.
Check that the status indicates "1" when the cable is connected.
Disconnect the cable end that is connected to terminal #A35 and move the cable to terminal #A53.
NOTE:Leave the cable end connected to terminal #B31 in place.
Check that the status changes to "0" when the cable has been transferred to terminal #A53.
If the status shifts to "0" the transmission control module (TCM) is??? OK. Replace the circuit board in the top panel.
