Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

Condition

The solenoids are controlled by amplifiers in the transmission control module (TCM). The transmission control module (TCM) opens the amplifiers to activate the solenoids and sends a voltage through the circuit. Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) TCM-0016 is stored if the control module registers an internal fault in one of the amplifier circuits.

Fault symptom[s] 

HINT: Harsh gear shifting can be caused by: 

HINT: No shifting - because the transmission control module (TCM) prevents activation of the solenoids. This stops gear-shifting. 

CAUTION:

There is a danger that this fault will cause line pressure in the transmission to be too low, which will result in wear.
