• Ignition off.

  Check the communication cable between the gear selector control module terminal #2 and the transmission control module (TCM) terminal #B31 (#B21). Check for a short-circuit to ground. See SHORT-CIRCUIT TO GROUND, PERMANENT FAULTS .

  Replace the circuit board in the top panel if no fault is found in the cable.

  Remedy as necessary.

  Refer to VERIFICATION 

• NO 

  FAULT NOT FOUND:  Troubleshooting has been completed.
