Preparations for removing windshield wiper mechanism

Turn on ignition.
Check that the wiper motor is in the parked position.
Switch the windshield wipers on and off.

If the wiper motor is not functioning, see Replacing the Windshield Wiper Motor .
Switch off the ignition.
