Description of frozen values: General

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2007 Volvo V70, 2006 Volvo V70, 2005 Volvo V70, 2004 Volvo V70, and 2003 Volvo V70. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Frozen values are parameter values that are stored when a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is generated.

Not all the parameters described need to be implemented in the control module. This varies from system to system. Parameters can also vary depending on with which type of transmission the car is equipped.

Certain parameters can be displayed without a value or with unreasonable values. This can occur if the control module has not stored a value, when a basic value has been stored instead or if the parameter is received via the CAN-network when there is an error on the CAN-network. For example, the rpm values may be unreasonable if a malfunction occurs for the transmission's speed sensors.
