Checking The Relay

• Ignition off.

  Check that relay 2/61 is installed correctly. At the same time check the relay connections, in particular 2/61 2, for:

  diagnostic trouble code CEM-8B01 

  short circuit to voltage supply as described in, see SHORT-CIRCUIT TO SUPPLY VOLTAGE. PERMANENT FAULTS .

  diagnostic trouble code CEM-8B03 

  open circuit as described in, see OPEN-CIRCUIT, PERMANENT FAULTS .

  Do the necessary corrective action.

  Additional information: 

  • To replace relay:
    • For -2004, see: CENTRAL ELECTRONIC MODULE (CEM), REPLACING
    • For 2005-, see: CENTRAL ELECTRONIC MODULE (CEM), REPLACING .
  • To connect the test box, see CONNECTING THE BREAKOUT BOX .
