Checking The Control Module For Open-Circuits

Remove relay 2/119.

Check the driver circuit for the relay coil for an intermittent open-circuit as follows:

Measure the voltage between terminals #1 and #2 on the relay base.

see CHECKING WIRING AND TERMINALS. INTERMITTENT FAULTS

Activate the relay driver for the right rear window down: Use the VCT2000 (or appropriate scan tool).

HINT: The voltage between terminals #1 and #2 should be battery voltage.

If the value deviates significantly, check voltage between #2 and battery voltage as well as between #1 and ground. Both shall be equal to battery voltage. Check for an intermittent open-circuit. See CHECKING WIRING AND TERMINALS. INTERMITTENT FAULTS Do not forget to check that the power supply to the control module is OK.
