Description, Operation, And Checking Function

Symptom and function description:

For locking and unlocking to be permitted by the keyless system, the following conditions must be met:

NOTE:

How many doors and hoods are to be locked and unlocked, when using the remote key/PCC (Personal Car Communicator) and the exterior flashing indication, can be programmed on the Infotainment control module (ICM).

NOTE:

It has become apparent that in some cases function failure occurs in the system when communications between the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) and the remote key/PCC (Personal Car Communicator) are affected by interference. On account of increased radiation in the surroundings, e. g. from TVs and radio transmitters, mobile phones, electric meters that are readable remotely, etcetera, on rare occasions interference may affect the signal from the remote key/PCC (Personal Car Communicator).

Verification

Check the keyless system and the central locking system by standing outside the car and trying to lock and unlock the doors.

Check that the LED on the inside of the each door is lit for about five minutes after the vehicle is locked using the remote receiver or with the "Keyless drive-system".

Also check that the boot lid locks and unlocks.

Check using all the vehicle's remote keys.

Pre-check:

Hold a remote key in your hand. Press the lock button on the outside of the door handle and check that the vehicle is locked.

Wait 1 minute after locking, then pull out the door handle and check that the vehicle unlocks.

If the function fails, when one of the remote keys is used, the fault probably lies with the individual remote key.
