Checking The Component And Wiring

Check the cable for the cradle signal. Check for an open-circuit.

Take a reading between control module connector A terminal #8 (#8) and handset connector terminal #4 (#24).

Check control module connector A for the cradle signal. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.

Check between:

• terminals #8 (#8) and #7 (#7)
• terminals #8 (8) and #5 (#5).

Try replacing the handset or holder if the cable is OK.

Remedy as necessary.

Other information: 

• The cradle signal is approximately 5 V when the handset is not in the cradle
• The cradle signal is approximately 0 V when the handset is in the cradle
