Checking The Component And Wiring

Check the cables for the internal microphone. Check for an open-circuit.

Check between:

• the connector for phone module (PHM) terminal A#15 (#15) and the connector for switch terminal #1 (#13)
• terminals #14 (#14) and #2 (#14) on connector A for the phone module (PHM).

Check the cables at control module connector A for the internal microphone. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.

Check between:

• terminals #15 (#15) and #3 (#3)
• terminals #15 (#15) and #4 (#4)
• terminals #15 (#15) and #5 (#5)
• terminals #14 (#14) and #3 (#3)
• terminals #14 (#14) and #4 (#4)
• terminals #14 (#14) and #5 (#5).

Try replacing the microphone if the cables are OK.

Remedy as necessary.
