Checking The Component And Wiring

Check the cable for the cradle signal. Check for a short-circuit to ground.

Check between:

• terminals #8 (#8) and #18 (#18) on control module connector A
• terminals #8 (#8) and #6 (#6) on control module connector A.

Try replacing the handset if the wiring is OK.

Remedy as necessary.

Other information: 

• The cradle signal is approximately 5 V when the handset is in use
• The cradle signal is approximately 0 V when the handset is in the cradle
