Checking The Status

Read off the status of the waking signal for the engine control module (ECM).

Change the key position from position 0 to II.

Check if the fault is permanent or intermittent.

The status of the waking signal for the engine control module (ECM) must change when changing the key position.

If the status of the waking signal for the engine control module (ECM) does not change, the fault is permanent.

If the status of the waking signal for the engine control module (ECM) changes, this is an indication that the fault was present previously but that it is not active at the moment, i. e. the fault is intermittent.
