The central electronic module (CEM) checks the software in the engine control module (ECM).

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the central electronic module (CEM) registers faulty or modified software in the engine control module (ECM).

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when the ignition is switched on.
