Reference Phase 2

The engine control module (ECM) runs a second reference phase (the function of the leak diagnostic unit is checked) if leakage is detected during the leakage diagnostic phase (major leak or minor leak). When this phase is completed and if no fault is detected by the leak diagnostic unit, the test result for a major leak in the fuel tank system will be "FAULT FOUND" or "FAULT FOUND" for a minor leak in the fuel tank system.
