Condition 

The dynamic stability and traction control (DSTC) control module is programmed at the factory with software for several car models. During the first ignition cycle, the DSTC control module reads off the configuration of the data in the car from the central electronic module and configures the DSTC control module accordingly. Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) DSTC-0097 is stored if the time between the read off from the central electronic module (CEM) and the configuration of the DSTC control module is excessive (over 30 seconds).

Possible Source 

• Contact resistance or oxidation in the connectors.
• Open-circuit in the communications cables.
• Defective central electronic module (CEM).

Fault symptom[s] 

• Anti-spin does not function.
• The stability control is not function.
• The DSTC warning lamp flashes.
• The warning lamp for the anti-spin system lights.
