Condition

Fig 1: Identifying Central Electronic Module (CEM)

The central electronic module (CEM) checks the re-engagement signal from the driver circuit to the wake-up signal for the engine control module (ECM) and to the hazard warning signal flasher. Both functions are controlled by the same driver circuit in the central electronic module (CEM) but can only be re-engaged once.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the central electronic module (CEM) registers that the wake-up signal to the engine control module (ECM) is too high.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be detected when the ignition is on and when the lamp in the switch for the hazard warning signal flasher is not lit.
