Checking the Relay

Check that the relay (2/92) is securely connected. Check for contact resistance and oxidation. Check the relay for loose connections.

The following applies only in the event of an open-circuit in the cable:

HINT: The fault may have caused by contact resistance, oxidation or loose connections in the supply to the relay. The voltage must be 12 V at both terminals #1 and #5 for relay 2/92. Check fuse 11B/13 in the integrated relay/fusebox in the engine compartment in particular.

Check the cable between central electronic module (CEM) terminal #16A and washer motor relay terminal #2 (2/92). Check for an intermittent short-circuit to supply voltage (for CEM-8F29). Check for contact resistance and oxidation. Check for loose connections (for CEM-8F2B).

Also check the connector for an intermittent short-circuit to supply voltage.
