Checking wiring and connectors

Check the resistance of the fuel level sensor (right-hand side). The resistance across each sensor may vary between 12 ohms (full fuel tank) and 383 ohms (empty fuel tank).

HINT: The resistance of the right-hand side fuel level sensor can be measured between fuel level sensor connector terminals #7 and #6. The resistance of the left-hand side fuel level sensor can be measured between fuel level sensor connector terminals #5 and #6.

Check the cables between connector terminal #7 on the fuel level sensors and control module terminal #A08 (#A8). Check for a short-circuit to ground. Check for an open-circuit.

Check the ground lead between control module terminal #A10 (#A10) and fuel level sensor connector terminal #6. Check for an open-circuit.

Check the cables between the left and right fuel level sensors. Check for an open-circuit.

Remedy as necessary.
