Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information REM-8C21

Condition

The rear electronic module (REM) powers the rear fog lamps directly via an output.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the rear electronic module (REM) detects a faulty signal.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed at key position II.

Substitute Value 

• If the fault has been detected in 100 ignition cycles, the output is closed permanently until the diagnostic trouble code is erased (applies from structure week 200539).

Possible Source 

• Short-circuit to ground in the signal cable.

Fault symptom[s] 

• The rear fog lamp does not work.
