Checking the connectors

• Ignition off.
• Check rear electronic module (REM) and left and right boot lighting connector for contact resistance and oxidation as described in Contact resistance and oxidation and loose contact as described in Loose connections (terminals) . Check especially for damage.
• Do the necessary corrective action.
• Install the components, connect the connectors, etc.
• Ignition on.

  Read the status of the diagnostic trouble code.

  If the status is now intermittent, fault was caused by a poor contact in the connectors.

Is the status intermittent? 

• YES 

  OKAY:  Troubleshooting has been completed.

• NO 

  Refer to Checking the wires and components
