The upper electronic module (UEM) checks the interior lighting. The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module registers that there is an on signal for the interior lighting in the headlining when the control signal for the general lighting is low.

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when the conditions are met for the interior lighting to be switched on at the same time as the lighting in the cargo compartment is off.

Substitute Value 

• The lamp goes out.

Possible Source 

• Short-circuit to ground in the signal cable for the general lighting.

Fault symptom[s] 

• The interior lighting does not work.
