• Ignition off.

  The light-emitting diode for indicating disconnected passenger airbag is located internally in the interior rearview mirror and cannot be replaced. Check that the fault in the LED remains after the power is switched off and on again.

  • Read off by clicking the VCT2000 symbol.
  • Turn the ignition key to position I.
  • Check that the requested status from the Supplemental restraint system module (SRS) is ON and that the status of the PAD lamp in the Upper electronic module (UEM) is ON when the lamp is lit. Check visually in the vehicle that the status of the PAD-light matches the read-out value.

Does the LED work as it should? 

• YES 

  FAULT NOT FOUND:  Troubleshooting has been completed.

• NO 

  Refer to Replacing Control Module And Programming
