Checking the function of the electronic throttle module (ETM)

• Ignition on.

  Check that the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) in the driver information module (DIM) goes out.

Does the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) go out? 

• YES 

  Refer to Checking communication with the electronic throttle module (ETM) 

• NO 

  Refer to Checking the power supply and ground terminal for the electronic throttle module (ETM) 

HINT: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.

• Ignition off
• Reconnect the connectors. Reinstall the components
• Ignition on.

  Check that the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) in the driver information module (DIM) goes out.

Does the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) go out? 

• YES 

  OKAY:  Troubleshooting has been completed.

• NO
