Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information ECM-904C

Condition

Fig 1: Identifying Electronic Throttle Module (ETM)
GLL157447Courtesy of VOLVO CARS OF NORTH AMERICA.

This diagnostic trouble code is only stored when the electronic throttle module (ETM) has reported a fault for both throttle position sensors during the same operating cycle. This means that this diagnostic trouble code will always be found together with ECM-9150 and/or ECM-9160.

For upgraded software, released during year 2006 or later, this diagnostic trouble code is used as an information diagnostic trouble code. It will be stored in cases where then replacement value, Fuel shut-off that follows the throttle, is or has been activated as well as the fuel shut-off has been active so much that there is a risk of increased emissions. The diagnostic trouble code is always stored as the result of another trouble code. Troubleshooting is not required.

Substitute Value

For upgraded software, released during year 2006 or later, no replacement values are activated for this diagnostic trouble code. As mentioned in the conditions this diagnostic trouble code, when stored, will be stored together with another diagnostic trouble code, which has activated the replacement value, Fuel shut-off, which follows the throttle.
