Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

Condition

Electronic throttle module (ETM) checks continuously that the two internal throttle sensors show the same throttle position. If the difference between the sensors is greater than 5 % for longer than 0.15 seconds, then this information is sent to Engine control module (ECM), which then stores diagnostic trouble code ECM-914F, Faulty signal.

For upgraded software, released during year 2006 or later, this diagnostic trouble code is used as an information diagnostic trouble code. It will be stored in case the replacement value throttle shut off is or has been activated.

See Identifying upgraded software ECM/ETM

NOTE:

There are individual cases when diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ECM-914F can be the only code stored in the Engine control module (ECM). If the upgraded software, released in 2006 or later, is downloaded and only diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ECM-914F is stored in the Engine control module (ECM), try replacing the throttle unit.

Substitute Value

Closing of throttle during braking.

The accelerator pedal position is ignored when the brake pedal is depressed.

Cruise control off.

Cruise control off during entire operating cycle in which fault was detected. If the fault is no longer present, the function is available the next time the car is started.

For upgraded software, released in 2006 or later, adjustments have been made to substitute values. In driving cycles when the fault is active, the throttle will be shut off.
