Checking The Throttle Unit

Ignition on
Activate reading off the position of the throttle
Check that both sensors indicate values within the permitted range at different deployments.
NOTE:
Dirt, ice build-up or objects can cause the throttle disc to jam momentarily. This may cause the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) to be stored.

Check that the shutter in the throttle unit is not dirty, blocked or sticking. Clean as necessary.

HINT: A film of oil covering the throttle may mean that the flame trap is not functioning correctly.

If the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) recurs and no faults can be found as above, try replacing the throttle unit.

Remedy as necessary.
