Replacing the driver information control unit

Preparation

NOTE:

Before replacing the control module all the program data should be read from the control unit. This is done in VIDA vehicle communication. After replacement the program data should be written to the new control module.

Removal of driver information control unit

Remove:

the dashboard cover panel as described in Panel and SRS passenger airbag module .

driver information control unit.
Disconnect contacts.
lock and alarm receiver.

Installation of driver information control unit

Install in reverse order.

Ordering software

Order software as described in 9438416 .

Programming the control unit

After the control module has been replaced, the customer parameters should be programmed in again. Finish off by checking that no diagnostic trouble codes have been displayed when replacing. Both programming of the control module and reading the diagnostic trouble codes can be found in VIDA vehicle communication.
