Actual adaptation range
This parameter displays which of the six adaptation ranges the engine is in.
B5244S/S2, Model year 2001-2002
| Area | Load | Driving conditions |
| 1 | 0.2 g/rev | Downhill deceleration without fuel shut-off. |
| 2 | 0.3 g/rev | Idling. |
| 3 | 0.4 g/rev | Steady at approximately 50 km/h on a flat road. |
| 4 | 0.6 g/rev | Steady at approximately 100 km/h on a flat road. |
| 5 | 0.8 g/rev | Gentle accelerations. Slightly higher speeds. |
| 6 | 1.0 g/rev | Accelerations and full load. |
NOTE:
Note that the air conditioning (A/C) compressor increases the load by approximately 0.05 g per RPM. The use of the AC compressor often results in a change of adaptation area.
HINT: The adaptations are weighted between the values of each adaptation point in an adaptation area.
