Checking The Component And Wiring
- Ignition off
- Disconnect connector A from the phone module (PHM)
- Disconnect the handset connector.
Check the loudspeaker signal cable at control module connector A. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.
Check between:
- terminals #20 (#20) and #7 (#7)
- terminals #20 (#20) and #5 (#5).
Check the cable for the loudspeaker signal. Check for an open-circuit.
Take a reading between control module connector A terminal #20 (#20) and handset connector terminal #2 (#22).
Check the connectors for loose connections, damaged or bent terminal pins and oxidation.
Try replacing the carphone handset if no fault is found in the wiring.
Remedy as necessary.
