Checking The Component And Wiring
- Ignition off.
Checking fuses
Check the fuse for the fuel pump.
Replace the fuse if it is damaged.
Checking the relay and supply
Check that the fuel pump (FP) relay is correctly installed.
Also check the relay terminal, in particular terminal #2. Check for a short-circuit to ground.
Check the voltage at the output for the fuel pump (FP), central electronic module (CEM) connector terminal #C16 (#16). The voltage must be approximately 12 V when the fuel pump (FP) relay is activated.
Check the signal cable between the central electronic module (CEM) and the fuel pump (FP) control module. Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit to ground.
Take readings between:
- Central electronic module (CEM) terminal #C16 (#16) and fuel pump (FP) control module (TBD) terminal #2.
Remedy as necessary.
