Checking The Component And Wiring
- Ignition off.
Check that the fuel pump (FP) relay is correctly installed.
At the same time, check the relay connection, especially terminal #2 for short-circuit to voltage.
Check the voltage on the output to fuel pump, Central electronic module (CEM) connector #C16 (#16). The voltage must be approximately 0 V when the fuel pump (FP) relay is not activated.
Check the signal cable between the central electronic module (CEM) and the fuel pump (FP) control module. Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit to ground.
Take readings between:
- Central electronic module (CEM) terminal #C16 (#16) and fuel pump (FP) control module terminal #2.
Remedy as necessary.
