HINT: The diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) are included in a larger fault-tracing for the symptom Starter motor not running.

The central electronic module (CEM) checks the identity of the ignition key when the key is inserted in the ignition switch. The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the ID of the key has been programmed in the central electronic module (CEM) but deleted and an attempt is made to carry out the above check.

NOTE:

If the ignition has been turned to position II with an unidentified key not belonging to the vehicle, diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) can be incorrectly stored in the brake control module (BCM) and electrical power steering module (EPS).
