HINT: The diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) are included in a larger fault-tracing for the symptom Starter motor not running. 

The electronic steering column lock is locked when the key is removed from the ignition switch. Locking is checked by the steering column lock module (SCL). When the steering column lock is to be locked, a locking sequence is initiated from the central electronic module (CEM).

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the central electronic module (CEM) registers that the steering column lock is still unlocked following the completion of the locking sequence.

Substitute Value 

• None.

Possible Source 

• Lock cylinder stuck in the unlocked position
• The switch for indicating the position of the lock cylinder is defective.

Fault symptom[s] 

• The steering column lock cannot be locked / unlocked
• Starter motor does not operate
