Checking The Control

HINT: The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the steering wheel module (SWM) registers communication faults between the control stalk and steering wheel switches. No further corrective action is required if the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is intermittent and does not recur. 

Check that the button/switch does not stick in the activated position.

HINT: Read off the relevant switch and check the function. 

Remedy as necessary.
