Checking Cable And Component

Ignition off
Expose the transmission control system.
Check connector C (22-pin) for the transmission control module (TCM). Check for contact resistance. Check for oxidation.

Check the cable between transmission connector terminal #C13 and the temperature sensor. Check the cable between transmission connector terminal #C14 and the temperature sensor. Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage. Also check the cables for a short-circuit to each other.

HINT: Check the temperature sensor by taking a reading of the resistance between terminals #C13 and #C14 with the ignition off, the transmission connector C (22-pin) disconnected and the breakout box connected. For the resistance values, see below.

Remedy as necessary.
